Wisma Habibie & Ainun was created to preserve something even more enduring: the values that shaped a life dedicated to knowledge, service, faith, and love. For many years, this house was simply our home. It witnessed family dinners, thoughtful conversations, celebrations, moments of quiet reflection, and the everyday routines that rarely appear in history books. Behind every public achievement of B.J. Habibie and Hasri Ainun Besari lived a life here, surrounded by family and grounded in the values they believed mattered most.
When Eyang Habibie & Eyang Ainun (“Eyang” is the Javanese word for “grandparent”) passed away, our family reflected on what kind of legacy should remain. We realized that while accomplishments belong to history, values only continue to live when they are shared. That reflection became the beginning of Wisma Habibie & Ainun. Rather than preserving this home as a place to be admired from afar, we chose to open it as a place where people can gather, learn, celebrate, and reflect. We hope every visitor discovers not only the story of Eyang Habibie and Eyang Ainun, but also the principles that guided their lives: intellectual curiosity that never stopped growing, faith that provided strength and humility, and love that gave meaning to every achievement. These values were never extraordinary because they belonged only to our family, but they also belong to everyone.
We believe that every meaningful conversation, every celebration, every act of learning, and every shared meal has the power to shape the future. It was true when this house was our home, and we hope it remains true for everyone who walks through its doors today.
Our wish is simple. May Wisma Habibie & Ainun continue to be a place of benefit, just as Eyang Habibie & Eyang Ainun once envisioned when they wrote:
