Originally envisioned as a Civilization Library where Indonesians could reconnect with their cultural roots, this space was later renamed the Habibie & Ainun Library in 2010 as a tribute to Hasri Ainun Habibie. The renaming reflected B.J. Habibie’s enduring devotion to his late wife, transforming the room into both a place of knowledge and a deeply personal symbol of remembrance.
Established on 11 August 2009, Ainun’s final birthday before her passing, the Library became one of the most meaningful rooms in the house. Home to around 5,000 books in multiple languages—including German—as well as miniature models of Habibie’s iconic N250 and CN235 aircraft, the space also welcomed distinguished guests with remarkable warmth. Floor-to-ceiling bookshelves and a ceiling adorned with the *truntum* batik motif, traditionally worn when receiving guests, continue to embody its spirit of hospitality.

Today, the Library offers an intimate setting where conversations, ideas, and celebrations come together. With a capacity of up to 80 guests in a theatre arrangement, it is well suited for forums, press conferences, product launches, bilateral meetings, intimate weddings, and other meaningful gatherings—continuing the tradition of bringing people together in a space where knowledge, connection, and hospitality have always belonged.
