Named in honor of the renowned Indonesian choreographer and painter Bagong Kussudiardja, this room celebrates the nation’s journey of growth, resilience, and cultural identity. Through his work, Bagong explored the balance between tradition and progress—values that closely resonated with B.J. and Ainun Habibie’s vision for Indonesia.
At the heart of the room stands the Prosperity Table, meticulously carved from a single teak tree from Jepara, Central Java. Once used during the final unofficial New Order ministerial gathering, the table features intricate reliefs depicting Indonesians in search of fertile land beneath a volcano—a powerful metaphor for perseverance, aspiration, and the shared pursuit of a better future.
